One of the major highlights this year for me was definitely appearing on liveTV for the very first time! It was on The Shopping Channel and it was part of the Style Matters with Jeanne Beker fashion series on October 11th. It was a full on 30 minute fashion talk Q & A while going over looks that models were wearing styled with LAMARQUE. It was such an incredible experience being on the show and I seriously had so much fun doing it. After it was over, I felt this unbelievable high that left me feeling like I couldn’t wait to go back on air and do it all over again! It was such a success for the brand and for me personally since truly, I am in introvert at heart so these kinds of things generally freak me out tbh!
I have to say though, practice really does make perfect. Prior to the show, I had practiced and trained with the amazing team over at TSC which were such great talents seriously! I practiced in front of friends and family and even reading over my notes right up until I had to go get mic’ed. Even though I know my product better than anyone else, I was afraid of blanking out. Walking off the set, I really felt happy with the overall result of my first time on air and it was a major accomplishment for me personally. No doubt there were times during the show that I felt like I didn’t say the right thing or I could’ve worded something better but nothing is perfect in life and we can’t dwell on our shortcomings – we need to move on to the next!
Spring is officially here & for this season, I wanted to create that perfect transitional piece that will ease you into the warmer months! I knew it would be a bit chilly while I was in Paris and the LAMARQUE Penelope coat was that perfect item to have with me. Literally wear it over anything. It also looks so perfect worn over a leather jacket. It gives you that extra barrier of warmth & it looks sooo chic. It’s made out of a double face wool blend fabric and all the seams are entirely finished by hand which is super luxe. I’m especially loving this white color for spring – it instantly brightens up the mood & the wardrobe leading up to summer! It also comes in black which obviously is my fave colour 🙂 .

One of the most fulfilling moments for a designer is the day of the Fashion Show. Your heart races as everything you’ve worked on for the passed 6 months comes to life for about 12 incredible minutes. The energy is at an all time high and the feeling is so beautiful as 1 by 1, you watch the models walk down the runway from backstage in your clothing.
What goes into the production of a Fashion Show? This is how we do it!
2 weeks before the show – I discuss with the appropriate teams appointed by the show. We nail down the hair & makeup, music, video, number of looks, lighting and outline how the show will go about.
4 days before the show – my team and I put together the looks and select shoes from our shoe sponsor of the season. Immediately after that we hold our casting for the show, where we look at about 60 models, male and female. We setup a mock runway and have them show us their walk to our music based on our guidelines. We narrow down and select our final models for the show based on their walk and their look for the collection. Then comes the fitting – we pair up the look we feel suits the model best while keeping in consideration the look/model lineup and make any clothing alterations if necessary. Boards are created for each model with the looks that they will wear.
Day of the Show – I arrive earlier for tech/model rehearsal. We look at the video that will play on the screen before the show starts, listen through the music making sure everything is perfect, look at lighting and the models rehearse their walks on-site. 3 hours before the show starts, the models go in for hair and makeup. Once they are done and the clothing is backstage, they come in and each model is appointed a dresser. This person helps them get dressed according to what is indicated on the boards. Models line up and are briefed before they go out. Watching anxiously from backstage, final touchups are made as the show is about to start! Coming out at the end, I’m filled with happiness as I take in the last few moments of that season & then move on to the next!
Here are some images of our first ever Influencer Collaboration Capsule Collection! The question of who would be our first girl was a no brainer – LAMARQUE & JODI BLK go way back and collaborating with her felt truly like an extension of the brand. Not only is she incredibly gorgeous, but she is the sweetest and her aesthetic is on point – she embodies the essence of the LAMARQUE girl. I was so excited for the launch of this collaboration, the pieces are timeless and totally stunning. Available exclusively in store at TNT Yorkville in Toronto and LAMARQUE online.
